Poem - Heart is Breaking

heart is breaking mother comforts daughter Heart is breaking
A woman’s inner soul is taken
“Why me? Stop it PLEASE, stop!
Won’t someone call a cop?!”
The man approaches, suddenly a burst of fear
“What beautiful breasts you have my Dear”
He touches, grabs, what is hers he gropes

Trembling she stands there.
Anger, bewilderment, guilt, sadness
“Again?!
I must go thru this again?!” she screams with madness.
Memories of rape many years ago
Fill the mind running to and fro
Again the loss of dreams and hopes

How many times must a child suffer?
Now again as adult it is even tougher.
“Is this my lot in life, what I was born for?”
An adult’s inner soul taken some more
They call her a Survivor, yet, abused again
So she writes in her journal. Takes up her pen.
Abused as a child, and then again as an adult.
“Why me? Stop it PLEASE, stop!”

A mother feels her daughter’s pain.
The weight of abuse, her own ball and chain.
The cycle continues, from one generation to the next
Were women created and born for sex?
Survivors of abuse, Mother and Daughter too
Sexual abuse, public’s eyes and ears deaf to
Heart is breaking as another child copes
